Books I’m reading this summer
Share
I don’t do this every year, but for a couple of years now, I’ve had the privilege of picking out some books for summer reading! It is incredibly nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood days of reading endless books in the summer.
Confession time, I’ve already begun reading my books I bought for summer. Honestly, I was just so excited when they came in that I just ignored my tbr pile and picked up one of these new ones. (Anyone else?!)
So what am I reading/have read? First, I grabbed The Little Red Truck series by Janice Thompson. I read a series she helped write last year (Gone to the Dogs) and loved it so much I knew I wanted to give this series a chance. It did not disappoint! It’s such a fun, lighthearted read, full of whimsy, and joy.
Up next, a trilogy written by one of my favorite authors and her daughter (Brandilyn Collins) The Rayne Tour has a good mix of suspense and humor. Sure to hold the reader captive.
I don’t know about you, but I secretly love hallmark Christmas movies. Meddling with Mistletoe by Liz Johnson is already a fun read and I look forward to finishing it this weekend.
One of my absolute favorite series and authors recently released a new book in the Mitford series. My Beloved by Jan Karen promises to be another enjoyable read into the world of Mitford and I cannot wait!
Guess I haven’t learned that yet by Shauna Niequist is one that I’m slowly enjoying. I did a Bible study of hers a couple of years ago and as a fellow mom in her 40’s, this book intrigued me.
I discovered Janice Cantore last year and enjoyed the first trilogy so much, I grabbed another! The Line of duty promises to keep me on the edge of my seat and I’m excited to dive in.
Last, but definitely not least, a trilogy by Colleen Coble. A Lavender Tides series jumped out at me when I was pursuing books for my summer reading. So I grabbed them to round out my summer reading tbr books.
That’s it for now. I’d love to know what you’re reading this summer, so feel free to leave book recommendations in the comments!
